At CDS 3, the audience was graced by perhaps the single best performance ever given by Joey Strange and The Horse You Rode In On. Joey is of course famous for his piercing stunts but much less known for his music. On the night of CDS 3, Joey and his band decided to forego playing listed songs and instead opted for a FLAWLESS open Jam Session of the bands signature "Dark Fusion" style. The result of the musical performance alone was SUPERB! Truly this group of musicians wove their talents into a half hour of pure musical entertainment worthy of any known major performance hall. Many who knew the band said it was the band's finest night. But it did not stop there -- oh no, far from it! To add that special CDS magic, Mr. Strange himself played his guitar not amongst his other band mates, but instead while hanging from half a dozen flesh hooks in his back about 6 feet above the stage! Dangling there, he proceeded to play as effortlessly as any ground based talent we have ever seen, as though he was sitting in his living room just jamming away. Joey remained suspended for the entire show! Between the raw novelty of the lead guitarist playing while suspending from flesh hooks 6 feet above the stage AND the absolutely TIGHT music played by the whole band that night, it was without a doubt one of the finest shows CDS has ever hosted. Opening for Joey, the facially-pierced and red-mohawked Fetish Comedian Rev. Mitcz brought out a variety of grins and giggles as he blasted the audience with his tall tales.
